LOVE this. So much better than the packets. Excellent with the Creamy Taco Mac. Can't wait to try it with regular tacos and taco dip. Thanks!

This seasoning mix is great. One thing I've done as a change-up is to skip the onion & garlic powder and instead brown the meat with chopped onion & grated garlic. Originally I did so because I didn't have powders and now I prefer it this way.

We LOVE tacos also! Our favorite way to make them is something my daughters call "Lettuce tacos". We use romaine lettuce leaves as our shell. It gets a bit messy, but hey, it cuts out on the processed taco shells (not that I don't love tortillas, but any chance to cut out on calories is good for me). Another plus: my daughters actually get something GREEN to eat! They don't like most veggies, so I'll take any chance I get!

Thanks for posting this recipe! My family and I are trying to eat better, and this taco seasoning is just one more thing I can make at home and control what goes in it.

Annie, I tried this seasoning the other night. It's excellent, and I love that it doesn't contain sodium and other mystery fillers like the taco seasonings at the grocery store. Thank you!

I've read your blog for quite some time (I'm in love with your pictures and fantastic recipes!). I have never quite liked packet taco seasoning, and I finally tried this recipe tonight. It is so fantastic! Thanks for posting it. It tastes so much better!

Hi Kelly, I just made this earlier in the week and posted it to my blog today. I measured out the seasoning mix and found that you would get about 7 servings out of the mix (meaning you could season about 7 lbs of meat with it). Hope that helps!

Annie,
Thanks for making such basic recipes for us novices, even though I know you can do much more complicated things! I have been reading your blog for a while, and slowly, I have gotten enough confidence to try some things. I made tacos tonight, and hummus earlier this week, and I got my first 10's (yes, my husband rates my dinners) in 5 years of marriage!!! Thank you!!
