Just made these last night! They were really good, not especially as chocolate-y tasting as I expected, but still really good!! The whipped cream and strawberries really made a beautiful presentation. The batter seemed a little watery when I started, so I added a little more flour. It was still a tad watery but I tried it and they came out beautifully. The dark color is really great. I had a few friends over for "Brinner" (breakfast for dinner) and they all loved them.

We had dinner at Outback tonight with the Chocolate Waffle dessert with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate syrup, was delicious. I came home and looked up chocolate waffles and found your recipe. I will certainly try it in the near future.

I made these last weekend and served with whipped cream and strawberries as you suggested, which was a great combination. Everyone liked them. However, while I was baking them, the chocolate chips seemed to really melt and I had the most messy overflow out of my waffle iron. Now, I'm renowned for filling my iron too full, so I just need to learn better, but I think I'll still stick with a less-mess waffle in the future.

First off, I love your site! We are celebrating Valentine's Day early, so I got up and made these supremely delicious waffles for a special breakfast today. They were light and somewhat crispy (which I love in a waffle). The flavor was fantastic. Thank you for all the great recipes and photos you share.

I think I already tried this recipe. I love how you decorated the waffle with the strawberries. I should try that with my son. He'd be so happy. I'm sure your son loved that. He's very cute :)
