Thanks so much for sharing this recipe. It is by far the most difficult thing I've ever attempted to bake and I was thrilled with how well it turned out (despite having to make a few ingredient substitutions because of grocery availability in Germany).

Also just in case anyone was wondering, the dough will still come out fine if it is refrigerated overnight even after it's been coiled. I ran out of eggs so had to wait to do the egg wash until the next day, and was worried I'd have to start over but it still came out perfectly!

Hi Annie, I am making this right now and a. I think this looks so amazing. b. There is no vanilla listed in the ingredients for the dough, but the directions say to add vanilla to the dough. I keep checking the recipe because other people have made this and no one else mentioned it??? Maybe I am going crazy? I think I will just leave out the vanilla. But I am curious! Thanks!

This looks amazing. Instead of covering it with plastic wrap can you just cover it with a lid that fits the bowl?

This recipe appealed to be because I have been searching for a cherry cheese danish recipe. I followed the recipe exactly except for the fruit filling. I used a can of cherry filling in place of the raspberry one listed here. I used all the cherries in the can and left out about half the liquid filling. The danish texture is perfect. Next time would go lighter on the lemon zest if I were to do cherry again.

Wow! I finished making this coffee cake this morning. It may have been a long wait, but definitely worth it. When you said it grew in the oven I thought you meant a little bit, but this cake is huge. Thanks for the amazing recipe.
