My grandma also cooks by feel, and is unable to walk. In order to get her recipes, she sat in the kitchen and told me exactly what to do step by step, and I measured everything and wrote it down. Works like a charm and she doesn't have to do any work!

Too funny - I saw Chelle's recipe for salmon pierogies, but I wanted to find a homemade dough recipe. I turned to your site and had to laugh when I saw that you and Chelle did a past pierogi challenge together. Thank you!

I was looking at your apple crumble bars and I'm so glad I scrolled down a little. My family is Ukrainian (and a little bit Polish) and we grew up on my grandmother's pierogis - but none of us learned how to make them. I do know she used farmer cheese and potatoes so this will be a great recipe to work with. Thank you so much for posting this.

yummy perogies! my gramma is russian and makes homemade perogies whenever she's in the states. i love that you sauted them! when she makes it for me she starts off by sauteing an onion and some sliced up bacon and uses the bacon grease to brown up the perogies. I like to drizzle mine with heavy cream or dallop some sour cream on there- yums!
